About Us

UpperHand Fish is a proud supplier of wild caught fish from the Straits of Mackinac. All of the fish is caught in the cold waters of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Once caught, it is processed immediately and vacuum sealed to retain that “Fresh Caught Flavor.” We carry a full line of smoked Pate’s (Whitefish, Lake Trout, and Salmon) Fish Fillets (Whitefish, Walleye, Lake Trout, Wild King Salmon, and Smelt *seasonal*). Our Process

Commercial fishing vessels are in use on a regular basis and continually supply fresh caught fish from Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Superior. Once caught, it is cleaned, processed, and vacuum sealed immediately. According to Michigan State University, Department of Food Science and the Human Nutrition Sensory Evaluation Laboratory, “Fish which is carefully vacuum packed, frozen and expertly handled keeps its “fresh from the water” flavor. Consumers were unable to differentiate the cooked flavor of fresh lake fish from the vacuum-packed frozen fish. The nutritional value remains untouched as well”
